Puget Sound Regional Synthesis Model (PRISM) PRISM is a major University of Washington program, created by faculty, staff and students with funds from internal university sources. It is significantly leveraged by external grants and partnerships with organizations throughout the region. Puget Sound Nearshore Ecosystem Project (PSNERP) The Nearshore Science Team has been formed to provide broad scientific guidance to the activities involved in study and planning for nearshore restoration. The Puget Sound Nearshore project is a cooperative effort among governmentorganizations, tribes, industries, and environmental organizationsto preserve and restore the health of the Sound's nearshore thatgenerally runs from the top of bluffs on the land across the beach to thepoint where light penetrates the Sound's water. It includes bluffs, beaches, shorelines, mudflats, salt marshes, gravel spits and estuaries. Strategic and Practical Use of Remote Sensing in Emergency Management (SPURS-EM) SPURS-EM is focusing on developmental and operational integration for the continuous use of an adaptive classified land cover product and the monthly generation of hazard specific forecasts in Emergency Management. Puget Sound Marine Environmental Modeling (PSMEM) This is a partnership of five academic, governmental and private non-profit organizations that seek to develop predictive modeling capabilities for the circulation and ecosystem of Puget Sound, Washington. |
